This is the first level of the Jyrki Saario Defendo instructor grading system. A Hard Target Instructor is an instructor, who can teach beginner groups and who is allowed to prepare students for hard target tests.

Transportation, accommodation, food and insurance has to be acquired individually. After successfully passing the exam each instructor receives a certificate, which is valid in all Saario Academy member countries and allows teaching Defendo on the granted level.
